Leaked Files Suggest GTA 6's Map Once Looked Very Different

A new breakdown of the 200GB Rockstar leak claims Leonida almost got South American islands, a bigger Panhandle, and a Disney World knockoff. None of it is confirmed.

Somebody went back through the old 200GB Rockstar leak again, and the claims this time are bigger than another cut mission. According to a breakdown from MrBossFTW, the files point to an early version of Leonida, the setting widely tied to GTA 6, that looked nothing like what Rockstar has actually shown the public so far.

The video, oddly labeled by the channel itself as a "Grand Theft Auto 5" upload despite walking through Leonida map data, lays out a handful of specific differences. There's talk of extra islands lifted from a South American design, an earlier and reportedly larger cut of the Panhandle region, a theme park area that sounds like it was chasing a Disney World vibe before somebody sanded the edges off, and rural stretches of the map that got trimmed down before release.

Here's the part nobody should skip past: this is one channel's read of leaked files, not anything Rockstar has said out loud. No developer commentary, no official map, no confirmation that any of this survived to the final build or ever left a concept folder. Leak trawls have already produced one story out of this same file dump, the reported scrapped Liberty City DLC, so treat this batch the same way: interesting, unverified, and entirely Rockstar's business until they decide to comment.

The claimed differences, per the breakdown:

  • Extra South American style islands not shown in official reveals
  • An earlier, reportedly bigger version of the Panhandle
  • A theme park area said to echo Disney World
  • Rural areas that appear to have been scaled back before launch

Rockstar hasn't touched any of this publicly. Until they do, it's a folder of old files doing the marketing department's job for free.
