Morgan Wallen's GTA VI Song Lists the Game Itself as a Vocalist

Metadata doesn't lie, it just occasionally embarrasses itself, and the credits on "Last Thing You Need (from GTAVI: The Album)" are a case study. Morgan Wallen gets the lead vocal line, which tracks. Grand Theft Auto VI also gets a "Vocals" credit, which does not, unless Rockstar taught its open-world crime sim to harmonize sometime between trailers.

Set the glitch aside and there's an actual song here, uploaded through Atlantic Records via the Morgan Wallen - Topic channel as part of the ongoing GTAVI: The Album rollout. The production sheet reads like a full country session: Joey Moi and Charlie Handsome on production and mixing, Jerry Roe on drums, Jimmie Lee Sloas on bass, Bryan Sutton and Tom Bukovac splitting acoustic and electric guitar, Alex Wright on keys. Five names share the writing credit, including Wallen himself, John Byron, Chase McGill, Blake Pendergrass, and Ryan Vojtesak. Ted Jensen mastered it. That's a real Nashville A-team, not a licensing afterthought bolted onto a cutscene.

This lands the same week this site covered GTA 6 Gets a Physical Soundtrack, But the Game Stays Digital, and the pattern is getting hard to miss: Take-Two is building out a music brand around a game that still hasn't shipped, complete with its own credit line for the game as if it walked into the booth and sang a verse. Somebody on the metadata side owes Grand Theft Auto VI a co-writing check, or a correction. Either works.

No release date, no album tracklist, no word on how many more of these arrive before the game itself does. The songs keep landing on schedule. The game's calendar remains the actual mystery.
