GTA Online's Weekly Reset Piles On Bunker Freebies and Discounts
A free bunker, doubled payouts and 70% off a supercar sound generous until you run the math on what Rockstar actually wants you spending time and money on.
Rockstar handed out a free bunker this week, and before anyone gets misty eyed about generosity, remember that a free storefront is still a storefront. The Grapeseed Bunker now costs nothing to acquire, according to the weekly rundown from Hazard, which means more players funneling product through Gunrunning, which means more players buying the upgrades and supplies that actually cost GTA$. Free entry, paid maintenance. That's not a gift, that's a subscription with better marketing.
The rest of the week leans hard into the same math. Bunker Research Missions, Ammu-Nation Contracts and Safeguard Deliveries all pay double GTA$ and RP, Community Missions triple, and finishing three Bunker Research runs nets a GTA$1,000,000 Weekly Challenge bonus per Hazard's breakdown. Log in and you get a Dolla Dolla livery for free, no missions required, and an ongoing reward event is dangling a free Penaud La Coureuse with an HSW upgrade later this month. None of that is a bad deal on paper. Test the actual hourly return before you call it a good one, because 'bonus' weeks in this game have a way of pointing you toward inventory nobody was moving.
The discounts worth checking, and the ones that aren't
The headline price cut is 70% off the Astron Custom, with 30% off the XA-21, Nightshark and Torero rounding out the sale, all per Hazard's rundown. The Lucky Wheel swaps in the Dominator ASP as its podium car, and the LS Car Meet Prize Ride puts the Jester RR up for grabs. Several previously vaulted vehicles are also back in rotation, according to the same source, which is the closest thing GTA Online has to a restock notification.
Separately, the Pegassi Horus is now available to every player rather than gated behind whatever event unlocked it before, which is the one line item here that's an actual expansion of what money can buy rather than a temporary markdown on it.
Heist rotation and the grind menu
The Kortz Center Heist keeps running, with Mi O Melee, To Beat About the Bush and Hare Oneself Think cycling through as the current Primary Targets, Hazard reports. Salvage Yard Robberies got refreshed alongside dealership stock and Gun Van pricing, and the week closes out with the Brute Force File, a Premium Race and the usual Time Trials.
What this actually adds up to
Strip the bonus multipliers and free livery away and what's left is a routine content refresh dressed up as an event, the same shape Rockstar has run for years on this game. That's not a criticism of the mechanics, Gunrunning still works the way it always has, but calling a free storefront and a doubled payout week a big update asks you to ignore that the underlying loop hasn't changed since the bunker system launched. Run the numbers on your own playtime before you decide the multiplier is worth logging in for. The bunker's free. Your hours aren't.
