GTA 6 Rating Spills Brutal Details, Then Gets Yanked
PEGI briefly posted a full breakdown of GTA 6's violence, drug use, and sex scenes before pulling the page down entirely.
PEGI slapped Grand Theft Auto VI with an 18 rating this week, and for a few hours the board's own description read like a highlight reel Rockstar hadn't gotten around to announcing yet. Then the page vanished. Classify that however you want. I call it someone upstairs realizing the internet reads rating boards closer than press releases.
Here's what was actually in there, as reported by IGN. Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos get tangled in a failed robbery and spiral deeper into crime around Vice City, which tracks with everything shown so far. The violence gets described as bloody with a high degree of realism, including detailed decapitation and dismemberment depending on the weapon. Drug use is frequent, and cocaine specifically can be snorted straight from your hand whenever you feel like it, no cutscene required. Sexual content includes nudity, intercourse, and what PEGI calls occasional fetish scenes, plus paid private dances where you can grope the dancer.
Will Mac's channel picked up the same breakdown within the hour, confirming it circulated widely before the takedown, though that's one listing echoed twice, not two separate confirmations of anything new.
None of this contradicts the ESRB's Mature rating from a day earlier, and Rockstar has already said there's no microtransactions or generative AI in the game, so the in-game purchases PEGI flagged remain a mystery. GTA 6 still ships November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
A rating board accidentally doing Rockstar's marketing for it isn't news about the game. It's just Tuesday. We'll see the real thing in November.
