Balatro 1.1 Leak Teases New Jokers, Vouchers and a Toggle

A fresh leak claims Balatro's 1.1 update is loaded with new jokers, vouchers and a full mechanics overhaul, straight from chatter in Localthunk's own Discord.

Score one for the community grapevine and zero for keeping secrets: the biggest deck-builder success story in years may have had its next update spoiled before its own creator was ready to talk about it.

According to gaming leaks, a video from the channel Murphy Obv, the reported Balatro 1.1 update is shaping up to be a genuine content dump, drawn from posts Localthunk has apparently made in the game's own Discord server. Credit where it belongs: sourcing straight from the developer's own words beats another round of pixel-peeping datamined code, and that is the one thing I will hand this leak without complaint.

Murphy Obv's video reportedly runs through new jokers, new vouchers, and a batch of new mechanics, alongside what is described as a full toggle system for the 1.1 content itself, letting players presumably switch new additions on or off. The channel also covers a rework of the game's Blue Stake difficulty tier and touches on multiplayer, plus notes on development progress and a possible release window. None of that has been confirmed by Localthunk directly, and nothing here should be read as locked in. Discord chatter from a developer is still just chatter until it ships in a patch note.

Here is where the scoreboard sits after a story like this: point pending for Balatro, because a leak this detailed usually means the real announcement is close, and point pending for Localthunk's silence, because staying quiet after your own Discord starts leaking is a choice, not an accident. Nobody loses this round yet. Everybody is just waiting on the same patch.

The video also flags a charity event tied to the community, Balatro Battles, which is a nice reminder that this fandom spends as much energy organizing for a good cause as it does datamining vouchers. That is worth a nod on its own, separate from whatever the 1.1 patch notes end up saying.

I will say this plainly: a roguelike deck-builder pulling this kind of attention over a rumored patch is the kind of thing every platform holder wishes their exclusives could manage on a random Tuesday. Balatro does not care whose logo is on the box it ships in, and that is exactly why it keeps winning arguments I did not even start. Until Localthunk confirms a single line of this, treat every joker and voucher name as a rumor with good sourcing, not a patch note. The moment that changes, I will be first in line to update the tally.
