Capcom Turns Ace Attorney Into a VR Courtroom Drama

You know the small thrill of slamming your hand on a desk and shouting your favorite one-word objection. Capcom just built you a courtroom to do it in properly, according to Insider Gaming, which reports that Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies VR remakes the 2013 title for Meta headsets. You will apparently point at evidence with your own hand, walk a crime scene in three dimensions instead of clicking through static backgrounds, and bark your objections out loud instead of tapping a button. That is a genuinely lovely thought: cross-examining a witness while actually leaning forward to squint at a bloodstain.

Hand tracking for evidence, spatial investigation scenes, voice commands for your courtroom outbursts: those are the pieces Capcom has confirmed so far, and each one sounds like it understands what made the original charming in the first place. A tiny visual novel getting a body to move around in is a rare and good thing.

It is also, notably, a game about a beloved handheld franchise that will not run on a single handheld.
